Rosdil

Rosdil (Ukrainian Розділ ; Russian Роздол / Rosdol , Polish Rozdół ) is an urban-type settlement in the Mykolaiv Raion of Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine .

The settlement is about 60 kilometers south of Lviv and about 10 kilometers southeast of the Rajons capital Mykolaiv on the river Kolodnytsja .

history

The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1569, received Magdeburg town charter in 1745 and was initially in Poland , came to Austrian Galicia in 1772 as Rozdół and was part of the Polish Republic from 1918 to 1939 (in the powiat Żydaczów, Stanislau voivodeship ). After the end of the Second World War , the place fell to the Soviet Union, since 1991 it has been part of today's Ukraine. In 1940/1944 the village, now called Rosdol, received the status of an urban-type settlement, in the 1950s large coal deposits were discovered in the vicinity of the place, and today's town of Novyj Rosdil was established to the east of the place .

Until March 24, 1992 the place had the official name Rosdol (Роздол) and was then renamed to its current name.
