Dubljany (Ukrainian Дубляни ; Russian Дубляны , Polish Dublany ) is a small town in western Ukraine about seven kilometers northeast of the oblast capital Lviv and is today a suburb of Lviv. The municipality also includes the northeastern villages Maliі Pidlisky and ПиМалі Sytychiw (Ситихів).
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1468 and belonged to Austrian Galicia from 1774 to 1918 . A well-known agricultural academy was founded here in 1856, after the end of the First World War the place became part of Poland and was only occupied by the Soviet Union during the Second World War and by Germany from 1941 to 1944 .
In 1910 a station was opened south of the village on what is now the Lviv – Kiverti railway line.
In 1945 Dubljany came back to the Soviet Union , there it became part of the Ukrainian SSR , received city rights in 1978 and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991.
