Dubljany (Ukrainian Дубляни ; Russian Дубляны , Polish Dublany ) is an urban-type settlement in Sambir Raion of Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine .

The settlement is 95 kilometers southwest of Lviv and 15 kilometers east of the Rajons capital Sambir on the river Weryteno (Веритено).
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1432, was initially in Poland , came to Austrian Galicia as Dublany in 1772 and was part of the Polish Republic from 1918 to 1939 (in the Powiat Sambor, Lemberg Voivodeship ). After the end of the Second World War , the place fell to the Soviet Union, since 1991 it has been part of today's Ukraine. In 1957, the village, now called Dubljany, received the status of an urban-type settlement, and between 1940/1944 and 1959 it was the center of the Dubljany Rajon within the Drohobych Oblast .
In 1872 a train station was opened south of the village on the Stryj – Łupków railway line; the German-speaking village of Kranzberg was located southwest of the town center and became part of the settlement after 1945.
On August 12, 2015, the settlement became the center of the newly founded settlement community Dubljany (Дублянська селищна громада / Dubljanska selyschtschna hromada ). This also includes the 6 villages Luka , Majnytsch (Майнич), Mala Chworoschtscha (Мала Хвороща), Mala Osymyna (Мала Озимина), Sapuschany (Залужани) and Welyka Osymyna (Оезиани) and Welyka Osymyna (Оезиани). until then the name was Dubljany settlement council .
education
In the Habsburg era, a higher agricultural college was founded in 1855, which in 1901 was elevated to the status of an "Agricultural Academy". With the Matura as a prerequisite, one could complete a 4-semester course with a diploma.
