The Jonassen Rocks are a small group of cliff rocks off the south coast of South Georgia . They are located 1.5 km west of the southern end of Novosilski Bay .
The South Georgia Survey mapped it as part of its 1951-1957 survey campaign. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1958 after the harpooner Idar Jonassen (1889-1933), who worked for the Compañía Argentina de Pesca in Grytviken from 1924 to 1933 .
