Jonathan Alonso Flete (* 6. September 1990 in Moca , Espaillat , Dominican Republic ) is a Spanish professional boxer in the Light Welterweight . As an amateur, he represented Spain at the 2012 Olympics .
Amateur career
Jonathan Alonso played 112 fights as an amateur. He became Spanish champion in 2011 and 2012 and took part in the 2011 World Championships , where he reached the round of 16.
At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , he was eliminated in the preliminary round against Mehdi Tolouti. He was also a participant in the 2013 Mediterranean Games and the 2013 European Championships .
Professional career
In 2014, Alonso was signed by US promoter Lou DiBella . After 18 wins, he boxed for the interim world championship of the WBA light welterweight on July 27, 2019 , but lost on points to Alberto Puello.
