Changan Ford Mazda Automobile was a manufacturer of automobiles from the People's Republic of China .

Company history

Chongqing Changan Automobile Company and Ford formed the joint venture Changan Ford Automobile in April 2001 . Both partners held 50% of the shares. After Mazda got in , the company name changed to Changan Ford Mazda Automobile . A source cites August 2004 for this. Now Changan had 54.1%, Ford 33.4% and Mazda 12.5%. In 2008 the proportions changed to 50:35:15. Changan confirmed this 50% in the annual announcement at the end of 2010. The headquarters and the first factory were in Chongqing . In October 2007 a second plant was added in Nanjing . The company manufactured Ford, Mazda and Volvo automobiles . At the end of March 2010 there were 8,769 employees.

Late in 2012 this company was dissolved. Since then there have been two successor companies with Changan Ford Automobile and Changan Mazda Automobile .

vehicles

Ford Focus , Ford Mondeo and Ford S-MAX as well as Volvo S40 and Volvo S80 were produced at the Chongqing plant . Ford Fiesta , Mazda 2 and Mazda 3 were manufactured in Nanjing .

Ford vehicles were assembled from January 2003. Mazda joined in February 2006 and Volvo in April 2006.
