Jones Ridge is a small mountain ridge with a few pointed peaks near the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie Land . It rises from the lower section of the Denman Glacier near its confluence with the Shackleton Ice Shelf .

Participants of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson mapped this formation. They named it Cape Jones on the assumption that it was the western end of the striking cliff on the eastern flank of Denman Glacier. The evaluation of aerial photographs of Operation Highjump (1946–1947) from February 1947 showed that the flow of the ice masses of the Denman Glacier separates the formation from the cliffs. Therefore, the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names decided in 1955 to rename it to reflect the nature of the formation. Both names are named after Sydney Evan Jones (1887–1948), doctor with Mawson's expedition.
