Jordi Ribera Romans (born March 3, 1963 in Sarrià de Ter , Girona province ) is a Spanish handball coach . From 2012 to September 2016, he coached the Brazilian men's national handball team . Ribera previously coached Juventud Deportiva Arrate from 1989 to 1992 and BM Gáldar from 1992 to 2003 . He then coached the Club Deportivo Bidasoa until 2004 . From 2004 to 2005 he coached the Argentine national team . He coached the Spanish first division club Ademar León from 2007 to 2011. In the 2008/2009 season he won the Copa ASOBAL with Ademar León . With the Brazilian national team he was eliminated from the 2015 handball world championship in the round of 16 after a 24:25 defeat against Croatia . In September 2016 he took over the Spanish men's national handball team . Under his leadership, Spain won the European Championship in 2018 and 2020 .
