Jorge Farinacci

Jorge Aurelio "Fari" Farinacci Garcia (born 1949 in San Germán , Puerto Rico , † August 26, 2006 in San Juan , Puerto Rico) was a socialist Puerto Rican politician.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science. In 1976 he was one of the founders of the Partido Revolucionario de los Trabajadores Puertorriqueños (PRTP).

In order to finance his party's political activities, he and fellow party members attacked a branch of the Wells Fargo Bank in 1983 , for which he later served a three-year prison sentence.

The outspoken advocate of independence from Puerto Rico and declared opponent of the Bush administration was most recently a spokesman for the Puerto Rico Socialist Front.
