Jorge Majfud
Jorge Majfud (born September 10, 1969 in Tacuarembó , Uruguay ) is a Uruguayan writer living in the USA .
Life
Jorge Majfud studied architecture at the Universidad de la República in Montevideo . After completing his studies in 1996, he taught design. In 2003 he gave up this activity to devote himself entirely to literature. One of the themes of his work is the everyday life and attitude to life of Hispanics in the USA. In 2012 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on the inclusion of pre-Columbian myths in Latin American literature of the 20th century. He is currently a lecturer in Spanish at Jacksonville University . 2014 International Latino Book Awards finalist In 2012, the American magazine [Foreign_Policy] (now EsGlobal in Spanish) recognized him as "the most influential Latin American intelectual

- In 2001 Majfud reached the final round of the selection for the literature prize of the Casa de las Américas Institute in Havana .
