Jorge Jesús Rodríguez Gómez (born November 9, 1965 in Barquisimeto , Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan psychiatrist and politician. Jorge Rodríguez is currently Venezuela's Minister for Communication and Information. From 2007, he was Vice President of Venezuela for one year in the government of Chavez.

He is the brother of Delcy Rodríguez , the current Vice President of Venezuela and son of Jorge Antonio Rodríguez, the co-founder and general secretary of the "Socialist League", a party that later became the current socialist ruling party, the PSUV . In 1976, when Jorge was ten years old, his father was tortured to death in a Venezuelan prison. Jorge Rodríguez studied medicine at the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas and specialized in psychiatry at the same university. He then completed a postgraduate course in clinical psychology.

Before he became Vice President of Venezuela in January 2007, he was President of the National Electoral Board (CNE).
