José Antonio Muñoz Rojas

José Antonio Muñoz Rojas (born October 9, 1909 in Antequera , Andalusia , Spain , † September 28, 2009 ibid) was a Spanish poet and writer.

José Antonio Muñoz Rojas studied law at the Universidad Central de Madrid. He received his PhD in Comparative Literature from Cambridge University.

He became known with his work "Versos" published in 1929. He was assigned to the group of poets of the Generación del 27 .

He has received several awards, including the Spanish National Prize for Poetry (1998) and the Queen Sofia Prize for Ibero-American Poetry (2002). He was an honorary citizen of Andalusia (1992).
