José Augusto Borges Nascimento (born March 7, 1959 in Bahia ), also called Zé Augusto , is a Brazilian football coach .

Career

As a player, Zé Augusto was only active in Brazilian lower-class teams. After his active career, he entered the coaching business and joined the Corinthians São Paulo youth department . In 2007 he briefly replaced Émerson Leão as head coach of the professional team and replaced him on an interim basis. On April 7, 2007, Zé Augusto then made his debut in this post in the competition for the state championship of São Paulo against the lower class club América Futebol Clube (SP) . Eleven days later, on April 18, he was last in this position for the Corinthinas players before he was replaced by Paulo César Carpeggiani . In total, he looked after the team in three competitive games, none of which he lost. He then moved back to the club's youth division. One of his greatest discoveries is the offensive player Lulinha , whom he helped make his professional debut on April 7th. In August, Carpeggiani was released after just five months and Zé Augusto was reinstated as a firefighter . But even he could hardly give the team any new impetus in the relegation battle and was replaced by Nelsinho Baptista at the end of September 2009 .

Other discoveries he made in the club's youth division include Willian and the future national player .
