José Inácio Faria

José Inácio da Silva Ramos Antunes de Faria (* 1962 in Vila Franca , Viana do Castelo ) is a Portuguese lawyer and politician ( MPT ). He has been a member of the European Parliament for Portugal since 2014.

Born in 1962 as the son of the Portuguese diplomat Caldas Faria, José Inácio Faria grew up in Johannesburg, among other places, where he attended Verney College. He later moved to London, where he attended the London Oratory School. He completed his law degree at the University of Lisbon . Until the beginning of his parliamentary mandate, he worked as an advisory legal advisor for the Lisbon city administration.

Since 2004 he has been a member of the green-conservative Partido da Terra (MPT). For the 2014 European elections , his party nominated him to second place on the list. Thanks to the popular first place on the list António Marinho e Pinto , the party won more than seven percent; Marinho e Pinto and Faria therefore moved into the European Parliament for the MPT.
