José Luis Molina Porras is a retired Mexican soccer player .

Life

society

In the seasons 1951/52 and 1955/56 Molina won the Mexican championship twice with Club León . He may also have been part of the CD Tampico championship squad in the 1952/53 season. According to the RSSSF database , a player with this name played in the Supercup finals in 1952 (with León) and 1953 (with Tampico). According to Libro de Oro del Fútbol Mexicano , a player named Molina II was signed by Tampico before the 1952/53 season. Due to the poor sources, it cannot be clarified whether there are two players of the same name who played at the same time or whether it was the same player who moved from León to Tampico in 1952 and returned to León sometime before the 1955/56 season. In any case, only one national player named Molina appears in the annals of the Mexican Football Association . In this respect it is questionable why José Luis Molina, who was signed up by Tampico in 1952, is referred to as "Molina II" in the "Libro de Oro del Fútbol Mexicano".

National team

Molina made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team on March 23, 1952 in a game against Uruguay, which was lost 3-1. He scored his only international goal on April 10, 1952 in a 4-2 win over Panama. His last international match took place on March 13, 1956 in a goalless encounter with Argentina.
