José Manuel Prostes da Fonseca

José Manuel Corrêa Prostes da Fonseca (born March 20, 1933 - February 3, 2013 in Lisbon ) was a Portuguese politician .

Career

Prostes da Fonseca graduated with a degree in chemical engineering . During the time of the Estado Novo he was general director of the school administration. After the Carnation Revolution he was in the first three Provisional Governments from May 1974 to March 1975 State Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Later he was head of the department for studies and scientific research in this ministry. He is the founder of the Centro de Informação, Formação e Aperfeiçoamento em Gestão (CIFAG) and was President of the Board of Directors of the Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE) from 1984 to 1990 .
