José Muñoz Cota

José Muñoz Cota Ibañez (born January 21, 1907 in Ciudad Juárez , Chihuahua, † March 13, 1993 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican ambassador .

Life

José Muñoz Cota studied law at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México . He was a professor of literature and Mexican history at the Instituto de Ciencias y Artes del Estado de Oaxaca.

During the presidential candidacy of Lázaro Cárdenas del Río , he was his private secretary. In 1937 he headed the Instituto de Bellas Artes and was elected to parliament in the 37th legislative period.

He was a member of the Liga de Escritores y Artistas Revolucionarios (LEAR). In 1950 he became a member of the Federación de Partidos del Pueblo , supported the presidential candidacy of Miguel Henríquez Guzmán and was therefore persecuted. He worked for Impacto , El Nacional , Novedades , La Opinion and Diario de Soavento magazines .
