José Ramírez Conde

José Ramírez Conde (born September 24, 1940 in Baní , † 1987 in Santo Domingo ) was a Dominican painter and caricaturist.

Ramírez studied at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes and was a student of Paúl Giudicelli and Jaime Colson . He had his first solo exhibition in 1966 at the Olimpia art gallery . His paintings can be found in galleries and collections etc. a. in France, China, Russia and Cuba. He created several wall paintings in the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Santo Domingo, in Mirador del Sur and San Francisco de Macorís. He has won several prizes at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes biennials. Ramírez belonged to the artist group El Puño .
