José Riço Direitinho (* 1965 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese writer .

Life

Direitinho studied agricultural science and agricultural sociology. He has received numerous prizes for his literary production, including the 1994 Grande Prémio de Romance e Novela of the Portuguese writers' association APE Translations into other languages ​​made him one of the main representatives of the new generation of Portuguese writers. His work mostly deals with the rural population of Portugal and their mysticism . Many of his books have been translated into German.
