José Tomás Arita Valle

José Tomás Arita Valle (born September 4, 1948 in Ocotepeque ) is the chairman of the Supreme Court of Honduras .

Life

Arita was the president of the Instituto de Jubilaciones Nacional de Jubilaciones y Pensiones de los Empleados Públicos (Injupemp, pension fund).

From December 20, 1984 to January 8, 2002, Arita was State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Arita was an advisory board member in the rectorate of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras and a member of the border commission between Honduras and El Salvador.

Arita was elected President of the Supreme Court of Honduras by Parliament in late January 2009.

As part of the coup in Honduras against the elected President Manuel Zelaya , Arita issued an arrest warrant for Zelaya.

End of July 2009 canceled the US government under Barack Obama the visa to enter the United States from Arita.
