José Villar

José Villar (born April 12, 1948 ) is a Uruguayan politician .

Life

With a professional background in textile and forestry, Villar was Uruguay's Minister for Industry, Energy and Mining from September 12, 2003 to March 1, 2005. He has been working as a foreign trade advisor since 2005. Villar, a member of the Partido Colorado , ran for the office of Intendente of Montevideo in 2010 .

Villar is married and has three children.
