Jos Moerenhout

Jos (Joseph) Moerenhout (born April 27, 1909 in Brussels , Belgium , † January 18, 1985 in Antwerp ) was a Belgian composer and conductor.

He completed his studies at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels ; he studied composition , music theory and clarinet . He opted for a military career and in 1939 took the military music director examination. In 1946 he headed the music corps of the 6th Brigade in Aachen . In 1951 he moved to the head of the music corps of the 11th Brigade in Antwerp, and in 1954 he was promoted to captain-commander of the music corps of the 2nd division in Antwerp.

In terms of composition, he has rendered outstanding services to the renewal of the repertoire of the wind orchestras.
