Josef A. Nossek

Josef Anton Nossek (born December 17, 1947 in Vienna ) is a German-Austrian scientist and professor for signal processing and network theory at the Technical University of Munich .

biography

Josef A. Nossek studied communications engineering at the Vienna University of Technology. After graduating, he began his professional career at Siemens AG in Munich and rose to head of development for radio relay systems within 15 years. He has been married to Zsuzsanna Nossek (née Wettstein) since 1973 and has one daughter. Josef A. Nossek received his doctorate as Dr. techn. and since 1989 was full professor of the chair for network theory and signal processing at the Technical University of Munich .

He is the recipient of the Vodafone Innovation Award 1998 and was President of the Association of Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology (VDE) from 2007 to 2008 and has been its Deputy President since then. Nossek is also a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (Acatech) .

On April 28, 2008 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit with ribbon.

In October 2013 Josef A. Nossek was elected President of the Convention of National Associations of Electrical Engineers of Europe (EUREL) for one year.

In 2014 he received the VDE Honor Ring.
