Brzuchanski jumped with the Four Hills Tournament 1979/80 his first international tournament and thus on December 30, 1979 also his first competition in the ski jumping World Cup . However, he remained unsuccessful on the tour, as in the following year 1980/81 and only finished the jumping in the back places. Only in his first competition outside of the tour, which was also his last World Cup competition, he reached 13th place in Chamonix on February 26, 1982, and thus a total of three World Cup points. With these three points he finished 78th in the overall World Cup ranking at the end of the season.
