Josef Deutsch (politician, 1890)

Josef Deutsch (born January 5, 1890 in Mödling ; † October 4, 1970 ibid) was an Austrian commercial clerk and politician ( SPÖ ).

Josef Deutsch attended primary school for five years and three classes in the community school . He completed an apprenticeship as a printer and practiced this profession from 1918 to 1921. He then worked in industry until 1934. His participation in the February fighting of 1934 earned him ten months in prison. Until 1938 he was a commercial clerk. Afterwards he was a laborer and worked in the office of the cork stone factory in Mödling. He was an authorized signatory until 1959 and then retired.

Josef Deutsch belonged to the Social Democratic Party since 1908 . From 1951 to 1954 he was district chairman in Vienna / Mödling, then vice mayor until 1955 and then mayor of the city of Mödling. As a member of the SPÖ parliamentary group in the eighth legislative period from March 18, 1959 to June 9, 1959, he was a member of the Austrian National Council.

Appreciation

In his honor, the square in Mödling in front of the district museum is named Josef-Deutsch-Platz .
