Josef Edenhauser (born August 29, 1962 in St. Johann in Tirol ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. He has been a member of the Tyrolean state parliament since 2013 .

education and profession

Edenhauser attended elementary school between 1968 and 1972 and then secondary school until 1976. He then continued his training at the Agricultural College in Weitau and graduated from school in 1979. In addition, he completed the agricultural foreman training. He and his family manage the “Ruedl” farm in Oberndorfer Bichlach as well as the associated “Hackeralm” in Kirchdorf on a full-time basis, whereby he has created a second mainstay by offering a holiday on the farm.

Politics and functions

Edenhauser began his political career in the young farmers' union rural youth, where he worked as deputy district chairman. In 1986 he was elected to the local council of his home town Oberndorf in Tirol , where he remains a member until 2010. From 2004 to 2010 he was also the Vice Mayor of Oberndorf. Furthermore, he has been chairman of the Kitzbühel Machine and Operations Aid since 1993 and has been involved as a representative of the District Chamber of Agriculture in the Land Traffic and Farm Commission for many years. In 2008 he took over the office of district farmer chairman in the Kitzbühel district, having been elected with 52 out of 58 votes at the district conference of the Tyrolean farmers' union. In the run-up to the 2013 state elections , Edenhauser was unanimously nominated by the district council of farmers as a candidate for the federal state elections. The ranking commission of the ÖVP ranked Edenhauser in second place in Kitzbühel . After Beate Palfrader , who was first on the list, was elected to the state government, Edenhauser was able to move up to the state parliament, where he was sworn in as a member of parliament on May 24, 2013. Edenhauser is a member of the Finance Committee and a member of the Agriculture, Forestry, Transport and Environment Committee. In the ÖVP state parliament club, he is the area spokesman for agriculture and forestry.

Private

Edenhauser is married and has three children. In his free time, Edenhauser is active with the Bundesmusikkapelle Oberndorf.
