Josef Graf (politician)

Josef Graf (born July 6, 1912 in Gänserndorf ; † July 2, 2000 in Mistelbach ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and secondary school teacher. Graf was a member of the Federal Council from 1958 to 1960 and a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1960 to 1976 .

Life

After elementary school, Graf attended a community school and then graduated from the teacher training institute in Vienna, from which he graduated with the Matura. Graf then worked as a casual worker and studied at the Pedagogical Institute in Vienna, taking the secondary school teacher examination between 1932 and 1933. Graf then took up the profession of secondary school teacher and served between 1939 and 1945 in World War II, where he was captured by the Soviets for half a year. After his return, he was a secondary school teacher in Gänserndorf from 1951 to 1976 and most recently the principal school director. He was also mayor of the community of Gänserndorf from 1955 to 1978. He represented the SPÖ from April 24, 1958 to October 4, 1960 in the Federal Council and was a member of the National Council from October 13, 1960 to April 1, 1976.
