Josef Johann Horschik

Josef Johann Horschik (born February 16, 1874 in Schönhof (Bohemia) , † April 24, 1955 in Dresden ) was a German writer.

Life

Horschik was born in the Bohemian Schönhof (today Krásný Dvůr) and came to Dresden in 1898 as a commercial clerk. In addition to his professional activity, he dealt with art and literature and joined the intellectual and artistic circle around Ida Bienert and her husband Erwin. In 1905 his first volume of poetry, "Lieder des Wanderers", was published in Leipzig. In addition to lyrical works, Horschik also wrote short stories and the novel "Johannes Lister". From 1941 until his death he lived in Dresden-Wachwitz in the Villa Asta (Am Steinberg 11). His grave is in the Loschwitz cemetery , his literary estate in the Saxon State Library .
