Josef Kratky

Josef Kratky (born April 4, 1907 in Vienna , † August 18, 1989 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and state party secretary. He was a member of the Federal Council from 1959 to 1961 and a member of the Austrian National Council from 1961 to 1970 .

Kratky attended five classes of an elementary school and then moved to a community school for three years. He then completed three classes at a commercial college and learned the profession of shoe uppers maker. From 1930 Kratky was employed full-time as an employee of the social democratic labor movement. Between 1935 and 1936 Kratky was imprisoned for political reasons, and between 1958 and 1967 he worked as the SPÖ state party secretary in Vienna. He represented the SPÖ from June 26, 1959 to November 11, 1961 in the Federal Council and was then a member of the National Council between November 11, 1961 and March 31, 1970.
