Josef Langenegger (born March 10, 1949 in Steinen ) is a Swiss manager and politician ( FDP.The Liberals ).

Josef Langenegger graduated from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences in 1974 as an electrical engineer. Later he trained as a business economist NDS while working. He lives in Malters .

job

Langenegger worked from 1974 to 1984 at Bell , Maschinenfabrik in Kriens , where he was project manager for the electrical controls of production systems for the manufacture of asbestos-cement and cardboard products. From 1984 to 2001 he worked for Centralschweizerische Kraftwerke (CKW) in Lucerne . Until 1990 he was responsible for application technology there, in 1990 he was elected as deputy director to head the energy industry. In 2001 he was appointed managing director of SBB Brünigbahn (Lucerne – Interlaken Ost). He played a key role in the merger of the Brünigbahn with the Luzern-Stans-Engelberg-Bahn (LSE). From 2005 to 2011 he was managing director of the resulting Zentralbahn (zb).

In 2011, Josef Langenegger retired early and has been a member of several boards of directors since then.

politics

Josef Langenegger was involved in his community of Malters, among other things as president of the school administration. From 2005 to 2015 he was a member of the Lucerne Cantonal Council .

From 2008 to 2014 Josef Langenegger was a member of the management of the FDP, the Liberals of the Canton of Lucerne, where he headed the Liberal Environment department. From 2013 to 2014 he was Vice President of the FDP, The Liberals of the Canton of Lucerne.
