Josef Reischer

Josef Reischer (born May 30, 1920 in Weissenbach an der Triesting , † September 17, 1989 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Reischer was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1964 to 1983 .

Reischer graduated from agricultural college and served between 1940 and 1945 in World War II, where he was taken prisoner of war. After the war he worked as a farmer in Edla, municipality of Weissenbach, where he was awarded the professional title of economics council. From 1949 he became politically active as a local councilor, in 1955 he was elected executive councilor, and between 1970 and 1980 he was again a councilor. In addition, he was active as a district farmer's chairman from 1960 to 1988 and between 1970 and 1980 he was deputy chairman of the Lower Austrian farmers' union . Reischer represented the ÖVP between November 19, 1964 and November 4, 1983 in the state parliament and was active within the party as district party chairman.
