Josef Schmidl-Haberleitner

Josef Schmidl-Haberleitner (born February 23, 1961 in Pressbaum , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Since October 11, 2007 he has been mayor of the municipality of Pressbaum.

education and profession

After attending secondary school, he completed the Institute for Police Cadets in Vienna as well as two semesters of law (Jus) at the Federal Administration Academy. In the civilian profession, Schmidl-Haberleitner works as a police officer in the police field service.

Political career

In 1995 Josef Schmidl-Haberleitner was elected as a member of the Pressbaum municipal council, where he was active as an environmental councilor. In 2000 he left the local council, but moved again in 2005. This time he served on the finance, water and sewerage committees. After the resignation of Mayor Heinz Kraus, Josef Schmidl-Haberleitner was elected as the new mayor of the market town of Pressbaum in the mayoral election on October 11, 2007.

Private

Josef Schmidl-Haberleitner is married to the nuclear medicine specialist Elisabeth Schmidl-Haberleitner and is the father of two sons and a daughter.
