Josef Schwab (musician)
Josef Schwab (* 1934 in Jagonak ( Hungary )) is a German cellist .
Life
Schwab studied the cello with August Eichhorn at the Leipzig University of Music . He then worked there as an aspirant and assistant until 1962. From 1962 he worked as a solo cellist in the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin . In 1965 he also took up a job at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin . In 1976 he was appointed professor. He led a large number of master classes and gave a large number of concerts as a soloist in Europe and overseas.
