Josef Schwarz (actor)

Josef Schwarz (born February 3, 1939 in Graz ) is an Austrian actor .

Josef Schwarz attended the Academy for Music and Performing Arts Graz , where he graduated as an actor and director.

After his training he received engagements at the Graz City Theater, the Theater in der Josefstadt and the Volkstheater Vienna , the Residenztheater, the Volkstheater and the Kammerspiele in Munich, the Thalia Theater in Hamburg and the Frankfurt Schauspielhaus .

Film and television viewers know him from numerous films: " The Odessa Files ", "The Gwissenswurm", "Peter Rosegger", " Car-napping " (1980), "Trenck, the Pandur", "The Talisman" (1987), “The Serbian Girl” (1991) and “ French for Beginners ” (2006).

He is co-founder of the Viennese cabaret “Der Würfel” and was a member of the Salzburg Festival for over ten years .

He participated in numerous film and television productions and became known nationwide for his role as "Josch" in 150 episodes of the children's TV series " Das feuerrote Spielmobil " (1972–1981).

In 1989 he founded the "Theater im Bus", Germany's only rolling theater.
