Josef Seilinger

Josef Seilinger (born July 29, 1901 in Riedau , † June 11, 1955 in Aschach an der Donau ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and BBÖ- master craftsman. From 1945 to 1949 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

Seilinger visited the industrial training school after primary school, where he the profession of locksmith learned. He then worked as a fitter , joined the German-Austrian State Railways in 1918 and subsequently worked as a foreman. Due to his political commitment, Seilinger was arrested in the wake of the Austrian Civil War in 1934 and sentenced to four months in prison, after which he also spent six months in the Wöllersdorf detention center . After the National Socialists came to power, Seilinger was imprisoned several times after 1938. After the Second World War he represented the SPÖ in the National Council between December 19, 1945 and November 8, 1949.
