Alfons Dobler

Alfons Dobler (born October 9, 1947 - October 1, 2008 ) was an Austrian football coach .

Athletic career

As a coach, Dobler first drew national attention in 1991 when he rose to the second highest division, the 2nd division , with SCR Altach in 1991 . After the team found themselves there at the bottom of the table, he was soon dismissed.

In 1997, Dobler took over FC Vaduz , who was in charge of the then third division team in the Swiss game system until 1999. He then returned to SCR Altach, who had missed promotion to the second division in Regionalliga West behind WSG Wattens . Even under his leadership, the team was twice runner-up behind FC Lustenau 07 , after which he left the club again in the summer of 2001 and was replaced by Ewald Schmid .

Dobler later looked after the amateur club USV Eschen-Mauren around 2005 . He also trained SV Satteins and the Liechtenstein U-19 selection team .

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the SCR Altach, Dobler was appointed coach of the "80-year-old team" in 2009.
