Josef Weyand

Josef Weyand (born August 16, 1899 in Nunkirchen , † after 1955 ) was a German politician of the SPD and the SPS .

Weyand completed his apprenticeship in the railway company , in which he then worked. From 1916 to 1918 he took part in the First World War. Then he returned to the Saar area and resumed his work, now in the administrative area.

In 1917 Weyand joined the USPD , in 1927 he became a consultant and member of the Saar regional association of the SPD, and from 1934 he belonged to the Socialist Protection Association. After the Second World War he became a founding member of the SPS in 1945 and took over the chairmanship of the district association. In 1947 he was elected to the Saarland state parliament, in 1952 he was re-elected, so that he was a member of parliament until 1955.
