Josef Zoppoth

Josef Zoppoth (born November 21, 1977 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and employee of the Carinthian Chamber of Labor . From 2013 to 2018 he was a member of the Carinthian state parliament and also Vice Mayor of the municipality of Kötschach-Mauthen .

education and profession

Zoppoth attended elementary school and secondary school in his home town of Kötschach-Mauthen between 1984 and 1992 and then graduated from the upper secondary school in Hermagor between 1992 and 1997 . After graduating from high school , he did military service between 1997 and 1998 and then from 1998 to 2002 attended the “Municipal Management” course at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Spittal an der Drau . Zoppoth completed the course with the academic degree "Mag. (FH)". After completing his studies at a university of applied sciences, Zoppoth was a contract employee at the Villach Magistrate in 2003 before he worked as managing director of the SPÖ municipal council club in Villach between 2003 and 2006. From 2006 to 2008 he was again a contract employee at the Villach magistrate and then worked from 2008 to 2009 as SPÖ district manager of Hermagor. Since 2009 he has been a legal advisor at AK-Kärnten in the Hermagor service center.

Politics and functions

Zoppoth was elected to the municipal council of the market town of Kötschach-Mauthen in 2003. Since April 2009 he has been the second vice mayor of the community. In the 2013 state elections , Zoppoth ran for fifth in the SPÖ Carinthia list and third in the Carinthian West constituency . He was subsequently sworn in as a member of the state parliament on March 28, 2013 and became a member of the committee for economy, trade, tourism, agriculture and forestry, art and culture as well as a member of the committee for infrastructure, road construction and traffic law. Zoppoth is also district chairman of the SPÖ Hermagor.
