The Josefskapelle is a chapel in the Gosbach district in Bad Ditzenbach in the Göppingen district in Baden-Württemberg . It is just south of federal highway 466 and just east of the embankment of federal freeway 8 . Next to the Josefskapelle is an old linden tree that is under nature protection.

construction

The chapel was built in the baroque style. It is around 15 m long and 10 m wide with two windows on each side in the east and west. In the south - between two oval windows - is the entrance crowned by a triangular capital. The building has a covered with dark tiles saddle roof , that of a small onion tower is topped with a bell. The apse to the north is covered with metal and has a window on each side.

The chapel was built on the site of a previous building and consecrated in 1733 ( Josef ) and renovated in 1969/1970. It is a listed building , is a sight and is used for Catholic services.

According to local tradition, the route of the A 8 was adapted so that the chapel could remain.
