Joseph Corre

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joseph Ferdinand Corre (born November 30, 1967 ) is a British fashion designer and the co-founder of Agent Provocateur .

Corre is the son of British fashion legend Vivienne Westwood and music manager Malcolm McLaren . After working for his mother for a few years, he first designed theatrical costumes and work clothes for the waitresses at the Café de Paris . He was married to Serena Rees, with whom he opened the first lingerie shop of the joint company Agent Provocateur in London in 1994 . In the wake of Serena Rees' divorce in 2007, Agent Provocateur was sold to an investment firm.

In 2007, the fashion designer refused to be knighted as " Member of the British Empire " (MBE) for reasons of conscience, as he cannot accept Blair's stance on the Iraqi deployment. The background to this is the fact that the so-called “Honors List” with the candidates for honoring the Queen is presented by the Prime Minister, who is thus involved in the process. The Queen herself specifically excluded Corre from his criticism.
