Joseph E. Fargione

Joseph Edward Fargione is an American ecologist and director of the North America division of the US conservation organization The Nature Conservancy .

Scientific career

Fargione received his PhD in ecology from the University of Minnesota in 2004 . He then taught at the University of New Mexico and Purdue University . His research interests are the energy and food needs of mankind, ways to preserve the environment and the creation of markets that are conducive to environmental protection.

Others

His work on the environmental compatibility of biofuels , so-called bio-fuels, and his work on the deterministic explanation of the occurrence of asset concentrations in modern societies and their consequences or their avoidance attracted media attention .
