Joseph Gorgoni

Joseph Gorgoni (born May 10, 1966 in Geneva ) is a Swiss cabaret artist . He plays the fictional character Marie-Thérèse Porchet mainly as a transvestite .

Life

Gorgoni did an apprenticeship in a stationery shop and also attended a dance class. After his apprenticeship, he took dance lessons in Geneva and Paris. He toured with a cabaret group, where he mainly focused on dancing and singing, which were taken over by the musical Cats . During a performance in 1990 he met the author Pierre Naftule and planned an appearance with him. In 1993 he developed the character Marie-Thérèse Porchet in La revue genevoise by Pierre Naftule and Pascal Bernheim. The character was inspired by the people Gorgoni and Naftule encountered on a daily basis.

The first program from 1996 was entitled La truie est en moi (“The pig is in me”). In 2003 Marie-Thérèse amoureuse ("Marie-Thérèse in love") followed, which Gorgoni This program performed Gorgoni mainly in Paris. Gorgoni later went on tour with Circus Knie .

Marie-Thérèse Porchet, née Bertholet, is a woman in her fifties who lives in Gland in the canton of Vaud .
