Joseph Holterdorf

Joseph Holterdorf (born August 23, 1882 in Oelde ; † 1961 ) was a German publisher and editor-in-chief.

Life

Holterdorf was born as the son of the publisher Engelbert Holterdorf. His father founded the daily newspaper Die Glocke in 1880 . He received a humanistic education at the grammar school in Meppen and then completed an apprenticeship in his father's company. After the death of his father in 1925, he and his brother Paul took over the publishing of the newspaper.

From 1908 to 1925 he was a board member of the Rheinisch-Westfälischer Journalistenverband and from 1925 to 1933 of the Niederrheinisch-Westfälischer Zeitungsverlagerverein.

In Berlin, Holterdorf became an honorary member of the Catholic Student Union KStV Rheinpreußen in KV , to which he remained connected until his death.
