Joseph Kaufhold

Joseph Kaufhold (born May 8, 1876 in Geismar ; † after 1939) was a German lawyer and politician ( DNVP ).

Life

After graduating from elementary school in 1890, Kaufhold attended the Friedrich-Werdersche Gymnasium in Berlin until 1892 and then changed to the Royal Catholic Gymnasium in Heiligenstadt , where he graduated from high school in 1897. He then studied law and political science for six semesters at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin . In 1902 he was at the University of Rostock with the dissertation topic Conditional sentencing and administrative pardon for doctor of law doctorate .

Kaufhold was party secretary of the German Conservative Party from July 1905 to September 1907 and editor for the Kreisblatt in Pyritz . He then worked as secretary for the parliamentary group of the German Conservative Party in the Reichstag until 1918 and as head of the parliamentary department of the Federation of Farmers and the Reichslandbund until October 1921 . He worked for the Reichslandbund until October 1, 1926. During the First World War he had participated as a Landsturmmann in the 2nd Warmian Infantry Regiment No. 151 and in the Field Aviation Department 54. He was dismissed as incapacitated and awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class .

Kaufhold was one of the founders of the German National People's Party (DNVP) in 1918. From February 1919 he was a city councilor in Berlin-Schöneberg and from June 1920 to November 1921 a member of the Berlin city council and the Schöneberg district council. In February 1921 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1932. In parliament he represented constituency 17 (Westphalia-North). In addition to his parliamentary activities, he wrote numerous party and economic policy papers for the DNVP and the Reichslandbund.
