Joseph Maximilian Kolb

Joseph Maximilian Kolb (* before 1818, † after 1859) was a German copper and steel engraver .
Some of his architecture and city depictions are very well known, but little has been passed on about his life.
In 1838 he lived in Nuremberg and exhibited in the city museum . He may also have been born there, but at least twenty years earlier.
He is also mentioned as an employee in the graphic studio of Johann Poppel in Munich . Many of his prints, as well as those of Poppels himself, came from the painter Johann Friedrich Lange .
In the Bavarian capital, he took part in the discussion about the beautification of the Frauenkirche with a design drawing . He represented Cologne Cathedral together with the railway and road bridge completed in 1859 .
