Joseph O'Sullivan (born 1944 ); Pseudonym Spider Webb , is an American tattoo artist, artist, and specialist author.

Life

Joseph Patrick O'Sullivan studied art at the Art Students League and the American Art School in New York City and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He then passed the exams for the Master of Fine Arts at the University of Guanajuato . O'Sullivan has run a tattoo studio in New York since the mid-1960s, lectures around the world, and his works of art are on display in galleries and museums around the world.

As Spider Webb, O'Sullivan was also involved in tattoo performance art, including The Vampire's Kiss , and most notably X-1000 . As part of this concept art campaign, he tattooed a small X on 1000 people and then 1000 X's on one person. Documented by the photographer Charles Gatewood and published in a limited campaign catalog.
