Joseph Piché

Joseph Piché (* 1877 in Montreal ; † January 1939 there ) was a Canadian organist and music teacher .

Piché was a student of Alexis Contant (piano), Romain-Octave Pelletier (organ and piano) and Achille Fortier (theory of harmony). From 1898 he was successively organist of the churches of Notre-Dame-du-St-Rosaire, Saint-Denis and Sacré-Coeur in Montreal. In 1930 he became principal organist of the Saint-Victor church. From 1905 to 1937 he taught at the Collège Ste-Marie and then at the Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf.

He was married to Yvonne Corbin (1877–1951), who worked as a choir director and organist. His sons Eudore and Bernard Piché were also organists.
