Joseph Xaver von Richterich

Joseph Xaver von Richterich (baptized March 30, 1719 in Aachen ; † June 22, 1786 there ) was lay judge and mayor of the imperial city of Aachen .

Life

Joseph Xaver von Richterich was baptized on March 30, 1719 in Aachen, which, according to the custom at the time, took place shortly after the birth. His father was the lay judge and multiple mayor Johann Theodor Richterich (1650–1728), his mother was his third wife Maria Elisabeth, née. Ossemans.

Joseph Xaver completed his law studies with a licentiate. It is not known when he became a lay judge. In 1747 he joined the star guild, which was the representative of the lay judges in Aachen, in 1749 he was first documented as a lay judge. He was elected several times to the Grand Council and was mayor fifteen times between 1757 and 1786 , alternating annually with Alexander Theodor von Oliva from 1757 to 1768 , and then alternating annually with Johann Jakob von Wylre until 1786 .

Joseph Xaver von Richterich was unmarried. He died in Aachen on June 22, 1786, and was buried on June 24.
