Josephine Achiro Fortelo

Josephine Achiro Fortelo is a South Sudanese journalist. She is the head of the community radio Bakhita Radio in Juba .

She first worked in the secretariat of the Bishop of Juba, then as a primary school teacher. A conversation with the former studio manager of Bakhita Radio piqued her interest in the journalist profession.

She is the managing director of “ComNet South Sudan” and coordinator of the binational journalist network “Cross-Border Network”.

In 2018 she was awarded the Johann Philipp Palm Prize together with Štefica Galić .
