Josephine Barstow
Dame Josephine Barstow (born September 27, 1940 in Sheffield ) is an English opera singer ( soprano ).
biography
Barstow studied at the University of Birmingham and in 1965 at Troxy London.
In 1986 she gave the world premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki's opera The Black Mask at the Salzburg Festival as Benigna.
In 1995 she was awarded the Order of the British Empire.
